About

Photography has been a passion for me ever since I was given a camera at the age of fifteen. My first camera was a Nikon EM which I used to capture images on 35mm film. Things haven’t changed as current cameras are also Nikons. I use these cameras not because I am a diehard Nikon advocate but because I know how these cameras perform under professional conditions and this allows me to concentrate on capturing creative images. I used to spend hours waiting for that perfect light for landscape photography and loved the thrill and anticipation while spent film cartridges were sent to the lab to be developed. Now, rather than waiting for the postman to deliver my developed film, I do all my own stuff from image capture to processing on an iMac with a pen and tablet in Photoshop and Lightroom to get perfect results every time.

After working as a research scientist for seventeen years in the U.S.A and U.K., I decided to take the plunge and make something that was already more than a hobby into a career that I was passionate about. As I am a bit of a perfectionist and do everything to the best of my ability, I completed a Higher National Diploma Course in Photography and Digital Imaging and gained a Licentiateship Award from the Society for Wedding and Portait Photographers (SWPP). Now several years later I have shot weddings of all shapes, sizes and budgets in some fabulous venues in Scotland. It is fair to say that I work, breathe and constantly learn about photography so that I am constantly reviewing the images I create to make sure I capture the true meaning of natural images bathed in fabulous light.

I choose to photograph weddings, portraits and contemporary images of people to make photographing people my speciality. It is an honour to photograph people and a real joy to capture people naturally. It is a fantastic profession which I embrace everyday but take seriously as I know I have been asked to capture one of the most important days in a couples life.  I realize the importance of Jimmy Choo shoes or a Pronovias wedding dress, so focus on you, the bride, as well as the detail, not forgetting your groom. Every moment is captured. I may make you smile but I never ask you to smile for an image and I always take pictures until you at least have your lippy on!

These are qualities I take to every wedding, pre-wedding and contemporary photographic opportunity to leave you feeling respected and treated well. You receive creative natural images to cherish and love in your wedding album that I have created with relentless attention to detail.
